Color Series: Red

What exactly is red? That might sound like a silly question, but there are a few different true reds that I consider are actually reds.

Plastic red – that’s the red of toys, you know, those toys that never seem to lose their color? No fading, just I don’t know…plastic red stuff. This is a solid red with no hint of another color, like if it chipped it would come off in a solid piece. (Is this making sense to anyone else?)

Living red – The fire engine red that looks 3D and alive! A dark red that is almost blood pumping in the veins red. If you know, you know.

Other reds – Then there are the other reds…raspberry, bluish red, Mazda red (at least it stands out to me, not sure why), old red (1970s trucks are where I’ve seen this color recently)…
