I have heard “writing is a process.” Okay, that’s great, but
what’s the goal?” I have many goals in my writing, and I find I am more
motivated when I set smaller goals that are achievable, even when I keep the
larger goal in mind.
Here is an example: As a freshman and sophomore in high
school, I realized I wanted to write, but I didn’t work toward a goal. I wrote
when I wanted to and stopped when I didn’t feel like it. I enjoyed writing for
myself and that was great!
It was years later, after hearing about other young writers
getting published that I even thought if it was possible for me.
I guess you can say the rest is history. Even if you only
have a few minutes, get to writing! It’s amazing what you can do in a short amount
of time.
